The scarlett ohara war 1980 free mp4 download

I am fearful that with the volatile political situation in the world films such as this may become prohibited from public availability, and perhaps even destroyed should extremist elements and they exist on the political left and right have the opportunity to do so, as if to destroy a book, film, musical recording or play would erase history.

And actually, the film in discussion here is based upon a fictional work anyway, its main theme the interpersonal relationships of the central characters and how they survived a tragic period of American history, which is, basically, accurately depicted in the picture. The film is certainly not a propaganda work to gain sympathy for the 19th Century American South and its cause so much as to promote an understanding of some of those people and how even innocents in the South suffered by having wound up on the losing and unpopular side of history simply on account of the situation of their births.

It could also be argued some black slaves in addition to their white masters suffered more as a consequence of the Civil War than previous to the events of the war, due to the massive amount of human suffering from starvation, displacement, disease, etc. Not all slaves were whipped or physically mistreated, even though, by virtue of involuntary servitude, they were also not free citizens. Actually, the black slaves in the film are among the most likeable characters.

So the film is hardly a pro-Negro slavery work, far from it. But just because a film depicts racial slavery doesn't mean it is advocating the practice, may just be telling things as how they were in a certain period of history.

In this film, the political situation merely serves as a backdrop against which a romantic storyline is enacted, and how the central characters--a mix of antagonists and protagonists--survive or do not the turmoil. The producer of the film David O.

Selznick also made sure to remove the most offensive word to American blacks before the screenplay was completed. And most of the violence depicted in the film is against Southern soldiers, with the exception of a few. Other than those incidents, the other violence in the film would be considered sexual violence, face-slaps between romantic partners including women hitting men , etc.

Also great work from the actors playing women trying out for the role of Scarlett. Clive Revill gives a great portrayal of Charlie Chaplin. Jane Kean is marvelous as Louella Parsons. Morgan Brittany is seen as Vivien Leigh. This is a fascinating piece of history. I just saw from the DVD extras of Gone with the Wind about all the troubles they had in the making of that film, and especially finding the right Scarlett.

This was actually one of the extras. With this movie you can dig deeper into the matter. Some actresses had stars in their eyes. Some moguls had stars on their couches. It was a game called casting. And before it was over - the intrigue would have all Hollywood guessing. I have uploaded each movie for posterity , with the hope that all present and future generations will learn from and enjoy them, as much as I have. I own zero rights to this film, nor to any other I have uploaded, and I receive nothing for the uploads nor for the information I put with those uploads.

Although I do receive great joy from sharing these uploads with you, I have no wish to infringe on any existing copyright laws. Most of the characters were really a caricature, all their dialogs were unidimensional. There are also dialogs that sounds fake, like Mayer explaining Gable what happened when he showed his t-shirt in It happened one night. But it was fun to spot someone that was supposedly a Classic Star and to hear people mentioning famous movies, like at some point someone laughs about Mayer doing a crazy musical called The Wizard of Oz.

Then they mention Rebecca at the end Myron is looking the screen test and notices Vivien. Also Cukor talks with Crawford and other actresses about the idea of The Women. Chaplin would be doing a movie about Hitler The great dictator. I know, I know, you want to see famous people. Some of them are OK, the actress playing Joan Crawford for example had something; but there are some that are not remotely alike.

My least favorite is Carole Lombard , gosh, did they see a picture of her before the casting?? Oh, I can't say if they talked like the original actors, because the only copy I got was dubbed in Spanish.

Well, try to guess who's who before reading the caption:. What do you think? Who's your favorite? And your least favorite? PS: people have decided to follow my blog so far.
